I love to teach art classes. This one, I taught completely for free just because I enjoyed it (and the host paid for supplies!). Some people knit, others cook food, I teach. It’s just what like to do and if you ask me: wine and painting is a great way to spend a Friday night.

Interestingly, many of my students were engineers, software analysts, and IT specialists during the day. They came out to learn how to paint in order to have some culture and fun after work.

A few of the students were grandparents who had been gifted painting supplies by their grandchildren so they came to learn how to paint and use the gifts they were given.

Great time last night with Cassidy! @is434 #acrylics101 #publiclibrary #adultprogram

We laughed, we drank wine (well, they did, I was too busy teaching), and we learned a few basic brush and paint techniques with acrylics.

Easily, Molly who painted her very first painting EVER with me tonight was so much fun, she kept me in stitches the whole night. (You can see her in the picture. Back row, center. She has on a white shirt just to the right of the man who is holding his painting up high.)

We had a blast 🙂

Thank you, again, for having me out North Shelby Library (@northshelbylibrary) If you’re in the area and want to learn to paint, come see me again in April and June.

Soon I hope to offer online painting classes where you can learn the basics of acrylic art and how to paint like a pro from home! Cocktails are optional, but highly recommended. 🙂
