I have partnered with British History Tours to take an exclusive trip to Stratford Upon Avon, England (and a brief one day visit to London to see The Globe and take a river tour of the Thames). We will be walking through the Life of Shakespeare September 16-20, 2019.

Here is what you can expect and how you can join us!

What we will do each day:

Day One – 16th September

Meet at our designated meeting point near London Victoria Station at 1pm, board our private air-conditioned coach and travel directly to Stratford upon Avon where we will be greeted at the historic, White Swan Hotel. Enjoy some free time to settle in before our evening meal together.

Day Two – 17th September
We spend the day with our VIP guide exploring Stratford and the places significant to Shakespeare’s story: Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Schoolroom, New Place and his grave before a private evening tour and dinner at Shakespeare’s daughter’s magnificent home, Halls Croft.

Day Three – 18th September

Today we will visit places very familiar to the younger Shakespeare; Mary Arden’s Farm and Anne Hathaway’s cottage. As a small boy growing up, Shakespeare would have spent time on the farm. It is run as a working farm, echoing the practices and routines which Shakespeare himself would recognise.  At Anne Hathaway’s cottage Shakeapeare courted the girl that was to be his wife and mother to his three children.

In the evening we will meet for a 3-course sit down dinner.

Day Four – 19th September

We head off early on our private air-conditioned coach to London! After checking into our hotel we visit the Globe Theatre with a private guided tour and a demonstration of stage fighting. We will also have chance to explore the area of Bankside, once the entertainment centre of London, away from the strict City of London authorities north of the river!

We will have a lovely sit down meal together in the evening.

Day Five – 20th September
Our final morning together will be an exciting journey by boat to Westminster where we will take a walk past the Houses of Parliament and Downing Street to visit Banqueting House, the last remaining part of Whitehall Palace. We then go on up through Traflaguar Square to the National Portrait Gallery where we visit the first ever portrait in their collection, the one of Shakespeare!
